How to use

  • Pick a color with the color picker, or paste a HEX/RGB value into the input.
  • Read all formats — HEX, RGB, HSL and HSV — with a live preview.
  • Copy any format with one click.

What is Color Converter?

Colors are written differently in different contexts: HEX (#4f46e5) is compact and common in CSS; RGB shows the red/green/blue channels; HSL expresses hue, saturation and lightness, which makes it the easiest model for building tints, shades and harmonies by hand.

Pick a color visually or paste any value in one of the supported formats — every other format updates instantly, each with a one-click copy button.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between HSL and HSV?

Both describe hue and saturation, but the third axis differs: HSL uses lightness (50% is the pure color), HSV uses value/brightness (100% is the pure color). Design tools mostly use HSL; some graphics tools use HSV.

Why does my pasted color fail to parse?

The input accepts #abc, #aabbcc, #aabbccdd and rgb(r, g, b) forms. Formats like hsl() or named colors are not parsed — convert them first or use the color picker.
