Hash Generator
Compute MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 hashes from any text instantly. Local computation via the Web Crypto API — nothing is uploaded.
—————MD5 and SHA-1 are broken — legacy use only. Use SHA-256 or above for integrity checks.
How to use
- Type or paste the text to hash.
- All five hash values update instantly as you type.
- Copy any hash value with one click.
What is Hash Generator?
A hash function converts any input into a fixed-length fingerprint: the same input always produces the same hash, while even a one-character change produces a completely different one. Hashes are used for file checksums, deduplication, caching and data integrity checks.
This tool computes MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 simultaneously as you type. The SHA family uses your browser's native Web Crypto API; MD5 is included for legacy compatibility only — it is cryptographically broken and must not protect anything.
Frequently asked questions
Can a hash be reversed?
No. Good hash functions are one-way — the input cannot be derived from the hash, and similar inputs produce completely different outputs.
Is MD5 still secure?
No. MD5 has known collision attacks and must not be used for security. Use SHA-256 or above for integrity checks and any modern security need.
